Sarah completed her undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at the University of Virginia and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Columbia University. She started her physical therapy career in the hospital setting at Mount Sinai Hospital and then joined the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in 2013.

During her 5 years at HSS, Dr. Kostyukovsky honed her orthopedic examination and evaluation skills through treating a variety of post-operative and non-operative patients. She gained experience rotating through multiple outpatient departments, including HSS Sports Rehab and the Integrative Care Center.

In 2016, Sarah completed the HSS Orthopedic Residency program where she gained additional manual therapy training. She passed her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) examination in 2017 which signifies her extensive knowledge in orthopedic rehabilitation.

In addition to her orthopedic skill set, Sarah additionally specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy. Dr. Kostyukovsky has had a longstanding interest in women’s health physical therapy and has completed continued education through both the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Women’s Health (APTA SOWH) and Herman and Wallace. After a personal experience with pregnancy-related back pain, and a traumatic delivery, she further realizes the necessity of physical therapy during pregnancy and postpartum for all women.

Sarah is also the owner of Mom in Balance New York an outdoor fitness program that offers workouts appropriate for pregnant women, postpartum recovery workouts and an intense HIIT workout for all moms who like to train outdoors in a group of like-minded women. (www.mominbalance.com)

Sarah relocated to Brooklyn from the UWS in Fall 2017 and is happy to call Brooklyn her home. When she is not treating patients or teaching Mom in Balance classes to New York moms and moms-to-be, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and exploring different neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
